The Wizard of Oz

A very creative Wizard of Oz. The concept was a pop up book. We used fabric hinges to allow things to fold in multiple directions and fold fully flat (see video). In addition, we built a counterweight elevator for the witch to melt (see miscellaneous projects for more info). Kansas was built using dyed poly silk legs and drops attached with rare earth magnets so that dancers could easily pull the silk down and dance to create the tornado. This show features two cut drops which were brought on using silent track.
