Turntable

For Creede Repertory Theatre I designed this frameless turntable to be used in repertory for a production of

She Loves Me.

It is a 12' diameter turntable with wheels up assembly. This design was hand driven, but could easily be automated and I built that capability into the design for future shows.

The turntable top is made up of four units comprised of three layers 3/8" AC plywood laminated together with a 1' offset. The 4 units get bolted together to form the turntable. Storage and reuse of the design is made easier with T-nuts permanently mounted to the bottom of the unit. The pivot unit is made up of an 1-1/2" schedule 40 pipe with two flange mount pillow blocks backed with UHMW.
