Butler University

I was extremely fortunate to get hired by Butler University as the Assistant Production Manager of The Howard L Schrott Center for the Arts almost on the day that it opened. This unique opportunity to create policies and procedures from the ground up has been a priceless experience. I have gained experience in billing, labor management, client interaction, budget management, and more that I will use for the rest of my career.

The Howard L Schrott Center for the Arts is Butler University's 500 seat proscenium theater. The theatre hosts a variety of events from the schools ensembles, to grammy nominated performing artists. It is the resident theater for the Indianapolis Opera, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and Dance Kaleidescope. Hosting over 300 events each year keeps the three in-house staff very busy. We have an IATSE educational union contract which allows us to have both student and IATSE stagehands depending on the event. Teaching the students is easily one of my favorite parts of the job.
